A platform like Strongest with ease of use, low cost of entry, intuitive UIs for both registration and monitoring the scores, it was a no brainer. Add to that the ability to host online competitions, which we are slated to do later this year, and it's a mix that's good to go.
Barbells for Bullies has used Strongest for over 20 events – CrossFit, powerlifting, Strongman – in 12 cities to date, with 20 more in 2019.

We’ve been organizing events since June of 2016, and using Strongest since roughly June of 2017.
A mixture of curiosity and looking for best practices. Being a new organization, and essentially creating a new business model for a non-profit, we were looking to be innovative. Utilizing a Google Spreadsheet and manually keying in scores wasn’t cutting it, especially being a small, volunteer run organization. A platform like Strongest with ease of use, low cost of entry, intuitive UIs for both registration and monitoring the scores, it was a no brainer. Add to that the ability to host online competitions, which we are slated to do later this year, and it’s a mix that’s good to go.
The ease of use, to be completely honest. With just under an hour on the front end to build it out, make it unique for each event and customize it – it’s “set it and forget it”. We can collect registrations, sell extra shirts, and even take donations through the platform. Moreover, it’s Google driven, so it updates fast and is super intuitive. We have the ability to run multiple events simultaneously, and we’ve literally never had an issue short of refresh time – which is with any web based platform. The people behind Strongest are not only are amazing humans, but also athletes and competitors, so they get the product and the audience.
Where do I start? When you take the registrations, shirt sizes, information dissemination, and scoring off your plate when you’re organizing events, you can literally focus on everything else. It helps mitigate mission creep from the minutia in the day to day, and allows you to focus on your mission – whether that’s raising money to help organizations as we do, or just throw a kick-ass comp that has people sweating and smiling all day. From floor to ceiling, it’s a fantastic product.
In this regard, we’ve leveraged Strongest probably less than we shoot. With our organization, and our entire brand attitude, we’re very connected to our support base via a variety of channels – socials, in person, email, etc. I personally know so many of our competitors by name or face, and they continually come out to events. Allowing me to have less time behind a screen and more time on the competition floor, Strongest has immensely helped us connect with our athletes in that regard.
All of our events are powered by Strongest. CrossFit, Strongman – you name it. We’re launching online versions this year, in addition to Weightlifting events, and will be using Strongest for all of it. Anybody reading this can contact me directly for more information, I’d be happy to talk about our experience utilizing Strongest for over 20 events in 12 cities to date, with 20 more on the way in 2019.
